Cadillac first introduced the Eldorado in the mid 50’s and through many reinventions continued producing cars under that name until 2002. The first Eldorados were special trim versions of the standard convertibles and hardtops and most of the offerings followed that model. In 1957 and 1958, however, Cadillac produced a four door hand-built masterpiece called the Eldorado Brougham with many features never before seen on a production automobile. The car was gracefully styled with a stainless steel top and suicide doors. The price for this car was an astounding $12,000 and not many were sold but GM had made a statement about what a great car should be and who they were.
