There are many ways to approach retirement. People are different. They bring different resources and have different requirements. Retirement is definitely not a one size fits all activity. I don’t have all the answers and my thoughts may miss the mark for some people. That is why I have been following other retirement focused blogs. I want to know what other people are thinking and doing with their retirements. If you don’t know these bloggers, I recommend that you read their blogs on a regular basis. Each one has a different slant and personality. I don’t think you can get too many good ideas and each blogger is living their retirement adventure in their own unique way. They have inspired me and I think you will be inspired as well.
Let’s start with Jim. Jim’s adventure includes motorcycles, trucks, atv’s and his dog with some beautiful pictures to make you drool. For example this post describes Jim’s recent motocyle trip along the sliver thread in Colorado.
Then check out Bill. Bill is a retiremed management consultant so he gets a bit more cerebral but he’s a good read to help you think about making changes and creating a new retirement lifestyle. In this recent post he talks about choosing urban, suburban or rural life when you retire.
Lovebeingretired is getting ready to retire and shares some of his thinking on his blog of the same name. Clearly, planning your retirement before it happens is wise and can help make the most of limited resouces. If you are getting ready for retirement he has an e-book to help you plan for retirement. One of his recent posts advised people to accept the aging process because there isn’t anything you can do to stop it.
Bob is another kind of cat altogether. Juicy Maters is where he shares his life and passions for cooking, homesteading and politics. Did you ever yearn to build a yurt? Make plantain french toast. Then Bob is your man.
Blanche is focused on healthy aging. She provides information to help you make better choices about living healthy. Recently she offered some tips for treating arthritis.
Joan is focused on helping boomers get second income streams to enjoy retirement more. She also has some ideas about retirement lifestyles and Yoga and Tai Chi. Recently she talked about how important breathing is for health.
Steve, AKA Fungeezer is about living a full and enjoyable life at any age. He is all about uncovential wisdom and living life large, maybe even being a bit selfish from time to time.
All these bloggers are great companions on a retirement adventure and I recommend that you check each of them out.
If you know any more bloggers that deserve to be on this list, please share them. I need more great ideas to steal to make my retirement better.
Hi Ralph, thanks so much for including my blog in your list! Some of the blogs you mention I also enjoy reading and a couple are new to me so I’ll check them out.
Joan,
You are welcome. I enjoy your blog and wanted to share with my readers.
Hi Ralph and thanks for the reference. I just realized LoveBeingRetired will have been going on 3 years come July – WOW does time ever fly! It has been a fun trip. By the way I am working on a retirement book that should be done in the next few months. I will keep you posted as I appreciate your feedback. Enjoy
