Here is a beautiful example of mid-century modern architecture in the Hollywood Hills. Typical of the style is the open design with wood beams and lots of glass. Although this is a large house, it is not pretentious. There is an open kitchen and the house seems informal and friendly. It has been updated substantially. The plumbing and landscaping certainly scream 21st century but it is all tastefully done and maintains the look and character of the original. If I can manage to capture an image from the gallery, I will include it as a tease. Otherwise, take my word that this is a remarkable house and a good exemplar of the mid-century modern style. Enjoy.

From that picture and your description it has a bit of a Frank Lloyd Wright feel, particularly the overhangs to provide protection from the sun while still allowing in plenty of light.

I love mid-century modern because it is simple and unaffected. This one has been very nicely updated because mid-century plumbing looks very dated these days.
