Retirement Lifestyle: It starts by thinking about retirement directions.

Getting the retirement you deserve

If you are already retired you may be disappointed if you didn’t plan ahead. If you don’t make some decisions then your retirement may be disappointing. If you don’t plan your retirement directions, you can end up in the wrong place.  Use the links below to find out more about how to take control of your retirement lifestyle.

“Retirement can be a self-imposed exile from life, exhilaration and fulfillment.  On the other hand, retirement can be a time of growth, excitement and satisfaction.”

It starts with your thinking. What do you expect and what do you think you deserve. What do you know and do you know what you don’t know?

“At every stage in life we face an incredible obstacle that limits our ability to grow and develop. We don’t know what we don’t know.”

One challenge is what you believe you can do and what you think you can’t. It’s all in your head.

“What are you good at and how did you get good? If you got good at one thing you can get good for another.”

Than you have to make a choice.

“Senior Living or Outrageous Retirement Lifestyle: It’s all up to you.”

Finally it comes down to life balance: balancing all the important facets of your life.

“Life balance is managing three important areas of life – financial, health and social. Retirement puts a stress on this balance that is more significant than in earlier stages of life.”

Hey Ralph, I’m not that far away from retirement and what I am basically doing is making sure that when the time comes I have set myself up financially so that I don’t have to worry about money.

I heron the news where pensioners sit at home at night not running their air conditioners because they can’t afford to, That’s not going to be me. I would rather suffer and save now when I have the strength to do so to ensure I don’t have to do it later when I should be enjoying the fruits of my labours.

    Sire,
Don’t forget to know what to do with all that money.

Mmm, your reply key comes up with an error, just like my stupid spelling mistake in my comment above. Oh well, must be getting senile 😉

I’m sure I’ll find things to keep us amused Ralph. The important thing is not to waste it so that it will last out my retirement. Sure don’t want to run out early on and then regret it later.

    Sire,
I don’t know what happened. I just changed Themes and now it doesn’t work.

I notice you installed Social and that seems to have fixed your ‘reply’ option. Pretty cool huh?

How has FlexSqueeze been treating you? Have you got that blog up yet. Oh, and before I forget, thanks so much for that Xmas present, it was most unexpected and more than a pleasant surprise. 🙂

    Hansi,
I’ve had my old theme with no tweaks at all for two years. Finally I took a bit of time to try something new. Glad to hear that you are keeping balance in your life. Sometimes it’s hard to tell from your blog.

I retired eight years ago come this March. The financial thing worked out well, everything else just kinda evolved. A pleasant surprise it seems to be.

      Hansi,
Evolution is good. Drifting is bad.

Ralph, the most important thing in retirement is to be mentally and physically active, if we can make a few dollars as well that’s great. I like your new look as well.

But as we older people know, that is easier said than done.
