If you aren’t happy, I have one word for you – Change.

Happiness is not an elusive dream that you must seek or a gift that someone can give you. It is not a blessing from God or the product of a financial windfall. Nothing can make you happy unless you choose to be happy.

If happiness is a decision, then why do so many people today choose to be unhappy? I don’t know. What I do know is that our society discounts the power of an individual and encourages them to believe that they are dependent on others to get by. It is hard to take control when everyone is telling you how helpless you are.

The simple truth is that happiness is a decision. I could send you to other sources but you will either believe or you won’t. If you refuse to believe, it won’t matter who tells you. The tragic truth is that everyone can be happy and it requires no special training, drugs or equipment but most people will refuse to believe they have the power and remain unhappy.

Don’t be one of them.
