Miss Cat is a lovely, pulchritudinous, rubenesque bundle of cattitide. Most of the time she is distainful of our attention, only ocasionally jumping on my lap while I am reading or parading in front of the computer screen as I attempt to surf the web. The only time she loves us is at feeding time and even then it is short lived.
In spite of this we love her and try, on ocasion to pet and fondle her with, at best patient tolerance.
There is another side to Miss Cat, however, that is not so lovely. Every so often for no reason that we can identify, she decides that she will piss someplace in our house and once she decides, nothing is able to stop her. We have tried the sprays and aerosols that are supposed to keep them away or so happy that they won’t want to piss in their happy place but nothing works. Last week we had to clean the carpet and replace the baseboard in our dining room in the hope that with the smell gone she would behave.
Not a chance.
Then we called Hitman Hal.
Hal was a present from our son. When he is on and senses motion he raises his arm and shouts some threat while making machine gun noises. We had great fun hiding him and surprising family members. It was also fun to take to work but after our frustration with Miss Cat was again roused, we knew he had a higher calling. He has been standing guard in the corner of the dining room favored by Miss Cat and so far he had caught her twice. Nothing for the past two nights.
We are encouraged but we know that Miss Cat is relentless when it comes to pissing so we keep checking around the house to see whether she has found another favorite place. So far so good but we are taking no chances.
